maybe I am shallow but I cannot help but say thank goodness for books
they allow you to shape the characters' looks to your own convinience
to my reckoning anne was pretty not beautiful but pretty
captain wentworth was most definetely described as handsome and was certainly not so old
and as for elizabeth! heavens wasn't she supposed to be the beautidul Miss Elliot?
I cannot watch this

I'm so happy to have found this adaptation of my favorite of Jane Austens books. After reading and enjoying it so much I was disapointed by the more recent film. THis one does is superbly. Thank you for putting this up that I should find it and enjoy it.

Probably my favorite Austen novel! The protagonist is supposed to be past her prime...almost headed to old age. Austen tosses us a bone called hope. Yes, there is hope for all singles...

I really don't think that Elizabeth is pretty enough and anne is too old. She is only supposed to be 26 in the book. The actress looks to be in her late 30s.

Elizabeth was... ehm... not the exactly the handsomest woman I have ever seen but.. I suppose she has a good side hidden somewhere.. out of sight.. heh.. heh..
