From time to time I return here to bring things back to reality. Education ENHANCES creativity! People, please think this through. If you had lackluster teachers or are lackluster yourself, that is not a condemnation of the educational system which produces mind-boggling creativity. Some subjects like history may seem boring to kids, but in adulthood it is critical for understanding life. And please don't forget basic survival - you must work, you are tied to food & water & energy sources.

@SnappyHip Couldn't agree more. For instance, I find it so easy to learn new stuff over the internet, YouTube for e.g. In school I was forced to stay at a desk for almost an hour and listen to a bored person talking. I didn't have images, videos, I couldn't PAUSE the speech to be able to process and assimilate the information and so on. Also, if you think about it, forcing a person to eat when they are not hungry, only makes them hate food or eating. NOW I'm "hungry" for knowledge.

@DanceDiggy I 100% agree with you that the definition of creativity is often too narrow. Without creativity, people would have never been able to invent new medications or other electronic equipments. For some mysterious reasons, why do people often equate creativity with art only?

@DanceDiggy Wow, I'm impressed. Seriously, if those that're in charge of our educational system are as smart as you are, the system would not be a mess today. It's scary that some people always equate math and science as subject matters where you "just plug in formulas." America, America.... Sigh. It's doomed. If people can "just plug in formulas," everybody could be a scientist.

Creativity is a form of Intelligence. Great example is an experiment where constantly the educated people excelled until it was a creative solution test and the only one who came close was the artist.

Some people want young white females to mix with non-white males. I made a one-minute video highlighting a very small sample of race-mixing advertisements. I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites. If you click on my name "awhitesoul2012" highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video. Thanks.

My God, this is basically what I've been hearing from Salma Khan recently. It is so, so true. I would like to see a TED talk about how to resuscitate stifled creativity, how to make our minds, quenched by the education system, once again reignited into their original creative state. Imagine if we all were conversant in the things taught in schools while still maintaining our ability to create and innovate. How would the world look?
