@Majoritis You're forgetting that motivative rewards work well for simple tasks, so no... China doesn't have it right. Incentive fails as soon as it passes rudimentary task work. In China, America and other post industrial capitalist countries have it backwards. For maximum efficiency, the simple factory laborer should have incentives. As soon as complex cognitive tasks are required rewards cause poor performances. China has sweat shops, the antithesis to everything Dan Pink says.

This has tremendous impact on students. The moment I stopped focusing on grades and started thinking more about the learning process, I found myself learning and performing better. When you have a lot to lose, you go into tunnel vision, and that blocks out the creative thinking process you need to handle the world around us today.

If life might be simple, then there might be a simple explanation for this. Consider that people who have been indoctrinated with a guilt complex for receiving money that they have not "really earned" will unconsciously get anxious when offered money, similar to if they were offered a really expensive car for $100. They would ask "wait, why is it so cheap? Is it stolen?" They don't want to be involved with a "bad deal" or an "unfair injustice." They freeze. Consider what is really being tested!

@QSReed maybe instead of saying idiotic things like these, you can use your time on the internet to take some grammar lessons.
